Agriculture is a sector of recognized importance in Portugal, Europe and the world. The competitiveness of agricultural production today depends, on a large scale, on understanding and complying with complex European legal rules and national and European legislation. This course, dedicated to non-legal professionals, will aim to provide students with a generic and practical understanding of the legal issues that affect agriculture and the business sector, namely the context and legal framework of the Portuguese agricultural sector, taking into account the challenges sustainability and climate transition that agricultural companies and agricultural entrepreneurs face in the national and European context.
Goals
In this training, we will study national and European legal matters that impact the agricultural sector, from agricultural legislation, the impact of artificial intelligence on the sector and the relevant figure of cooperativism. In 8 sessions, this training will provide a comprehensive overview of the legal aspects essential for understanding agricultural activity in Portugal.

Graduates/masters in areas of knowledge other than law.
Businesspeople and professionals from the agricultural sector, managers, economists, agronomic, forestry, agri-food and industrial sectors.
Professionals from public and private administration who work in the agri-food and agro-industrial sectors and who wish to acquire basic knowledge in the area of Portuguese and European agricultural law; technicians from companies and organizations in general who seek to strengthen their knowledge of agricultural law.
