This course is aimed at anyone interested in understanding the entire process of wine production, from its historical foundations to modern winemaking techniques. A new tasting approach will allow you to quickly and easily understand wine styles and characterize individual preferences. For this reason, classes include tastings of real wines to explain the topics covered in the theoretical classes.
Goals
The main objective is to understand the central aspects of wine production and appreciation, covering its historical roots and recent developments in the neural processing of sensations.
To this end, several topics will be covered with the aim of:
- Describe the different winemaking processes and respective wines
- Wine tasting using an emotion-based approach to recognize key wine styles and consumer preferences
- Describe the bases of historical and heritage sustainability of wine production and wine tourism activities
- Experiment with different degrees of food and wine pairing
At the end of this course, the trainee will be able to:
- Understand the different types of winemaking and wine
- Understanding the origin and history associated with grape and wine production
- Understanding consumer preferences and wine trends
- Appreciate wines according to their aesthetic value through holistic descriptors
- Recognize individual sensitivity to the most common aromas
- Being able to find suitable wine-food pairings
